Manual keigo

Just found a nice wikipedia article about manual keigo, a controversial form of keigo in Japanese language. This manual keigo includes baito keigo, kombini keigo, and family-restaurant keigo.

1. X no houga
How about X? (suggestion, offering choice)
Gamushiroppu no houga ikaga desu ka?
(How about gum syrup?)

2. N ni narimasu
Desu.
Ebi doria desu. = Ebi doria ni narimasu.
Standard keigo => Ebi doria de gozaimasu.

3. X to natte orimasu
Desu. (a state of being, instead of physical object)
Touten wa zenmen kin-en to natte orimasu.
Normal => Touten wa zenmen kin-en ni natte imasu.

4. O-azukari shimasu
When receving money from customer. Means: temporarily take into custody (tahanan/pemeliharaan).
Ichiman en oazukari shimasu.
Traditionally =>
Ichiman en wo choudai (ita)shimasu.
Ichiman en wo itadakimasu.
Choudai: used when accepting money

5. Otsugi no okyaku-sama
Next customer.

6. (Name of food) no okyakusama
The customer who ordered (name of the food)

7. Gochuumon wa osoroi deshouka
Have you decided your order?
Traditionally => Gochuumon wa soroimashita deshouka?

8. Sasete itadakimasu
To force/allow to accept/receive the favor of.
Honjitsu wa kyuugyou sasete itadakimasu.
(Today, we receive the favor of you allowing our store to be closed)
Traditionally =>
- itashimasu
- shite itadakimasu : we (humbly) have you do for us
- shite kudasaimasu : you (hon.) do for us
